VIDEO CONTENT

Video Production in Winnipeg

Video is often the most convincing format a brand can use. Whether it’s product demos, instructional clips, founder videos, ads, reels or simple talking-head content, the right video can explain, demonstrate, reassure and convert. I help Winnipeg and Canadian brands create clear, well-edited video that feels polished without being overproduced—and that works across social, web, email and ads.

Why video matters

Customers want to see how things work. They want to hear a human voice. They want to know what they’re buying without guessing. Video builds trust fast—and when the editing, pacing and visuals are clean, it keeps people watching.

Tools & workflow

Everything is handled in a modern, efficient editing workflow. I use tools like DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere, and After Effects when needed, ensuring professional colour, clean cuts and smooth pacing. I also handle lighting, framing and audio setup so your footage looks (and sounds) like you meant it.

The process

1. Planning & Shot List

We define the type of video, platform, message, runtime and any required shots or talking points. If you're not sure what format you need, I’ll guide you.

2. Shooting

Clean setup, controlled lighting, clear audio and multiple takes if needed. Product footage is shot in a simple, polished style that works across all platforms.

3. Editing

Tight pacing, clean cuts, colour correction, subtle motion graphics, and captioning where helpful. If something can be clearer, I refine it.

4. Delivery

You receive organized files and correctly sized exports for each platform: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Shopify, web or ads. Ready to upload immediately.

FAQ

Common Questions

Do I actually need professional video, or can I shoot it on my phone?

For behind-the-scenes content, social posts, and quick updates — your phone is fine. Where professional production earns its place is in anything that lives on your website, represents your brand in a sales context, or needs to hold up over time. The bar isn’t cinematic; it’s audio clarity, stable framing, clean lighting, and an edit that respects the viewer’s time. Those things are achievable on modest equipment, but they take more intention than pointing a phone and hitting record.

What kinds of video are actually useful for a small business?

The highest-value types tend to be: a short explainer or intro video that lives on your homepage, product or service demos, and simple walk-throughs that answer the questions your customers ask repeatedly. These do real work — they reduce friction before someone contacts you, and they hold up for a long time without needing to be remade. Social content is a different category with different shelf lives and different production standards.

How long should my videos be?

As short as they need to be to communicate the point clearly — and no longer. For a homepage or product explainer, 60 to 90 seconds is usually right. Social clips are shorter: 15 to 30 seconds for most platforms. Longer-form content can work on YouTube where people search for it intentionally, but most small business video that lives on a website or gets shared should be edited tightly and end before the viewer wants it to.

Horizontal or vertical — does format matter?

Yes, and it matters early — ideally at the filming stage, not in editing. Horizontal (16:9) is standard for websites and YouTube. Vertical (9:16) is required for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and similar short-form platforms. When there’s budget for one shoot, I’ll film with enough headroom and framing to deliver both cuts without one looking like a cropped compromise.

What do I receive when the project is done?

Edited, export-ready video files in the formats you need — typically a web-optimized version for your site, and platform-specific versions for social if required. Captions are included where they make sense; most video is watched without sound, especially on mobile, so they’re not optional for anything going to social.

How much does video production cost?

It varies with scope — a simple one-location explainer is a very different project from a multi-scene product video with b-roll. I’ll give you a clear number once I understand what the video needs to do, where it’s going, and how involved the shoot is. What I don’t do is pad a project into something larger than the brief requires.
